10% to 20% reduction in fuel costs can be achieved by the use of Diesel Fuel Additive (DFA) at 1:1,000 and Engine Oil Treatment (EOT) once every 100,000 miles. The Fuel additive costs about 3p per litre depending on quantity and saves between 10p and 20p per litre assuming fuel is about £1 per litre. The EOT costs between £60 and £70 per litre and is added to the oil in the ratio 1:10 at an oil change.
The EOT chemically bonds to all metal parts inside the engine reducing friction by some 80%. To have full effect it has to be in the engine for at least 2,000 miles. This treatment is not to be confused with ptfe that is an oil additive and is discharged with the oil when the oil is changed. The EOT removes all carbon deposits within the engine and so the oil filter may have to be changed in the first 500 miles. The EOT is particularly effective with older engines as the thin skin fills in any areas of wear and so takes the performance of the engine back to ‘as new’. Miles between oil changes can be doubled, however we don’t recommend doing that if the engine is still within warrantee.
The DFA bonds to the metal parts of the fuel system in the same way as the EOT and also improves the combustion of the fuel. In the process of doing all this, emissions are reduced and for large fleet owners the reduction in Carbon Dioxide can be tracked and processed all the way through to selling Carbon Credits on the International CC Exchange.
